Queen Elizabeth II is 83 years old. Her birthday was on 21th April. That day he opened the Buckingham palace's garden to the public. It's the biggest garden in London and the tickets cost 22€.

Oral Presentation

My self avaluation:

I think I do a bad oral presentation because I was very nervous and I couldn't explain all I want to. I talk about Italy and most of the group has been there and it was a little bit boring, but when I talk I was fluently and I wasn't stopping or things like that. I think I've got a good pronunciation. But I have to say that the oral presentation was very short.

For all this ideas I think I have to get a 5 because it's short but OK.

Four weddings and a funeral

The first wedding is Angus' and Laura's wedding. Charles is the best-man and he lives with Scarlett he arrives late and he also forgot the rings. At this wedding, Charles meets Carrie, an American woman, for the first time and spends the night with he. Carrie teases him that now they have slept together, they will also have to get married but she is joking.

The second wedding is Bernard's and Lydia's wedding, a couple who got together at the previous wedding. Gerald is an unexperienced priest of the wedding . The reception is not an enjoyable for Charles. First, he find Carrie, who subsequently introduces Charles to her fiance, Sir Hamish Banks, a wealthy politician and a very rich man Scottish's man. Next, Charles finds himself seated at a table with several ex-girlfriends, who critizace Charles and then he also met (known among Charles' friends as "Duckface"), with whom he had a difficult relationship in the past. In the evening, Charles enters in Bernard and Lydia's hotel suite and he must hide in a wardrobe because the couple has entered into the room. He also believe that Carrie has left the reception with Hamish. Charles and Carrie end up spending the night together.

One Saturday, Charles receives an invitation to Carrie's wedding in Scotland; and when he is shopping for a present in London and he mets Carrie. Then, he helps her choosing her wedding dress. Carrie also tells him all his flirts. He later tells her that he loves her, and if her wedding is unsuccessful, he would like to have a relationship with her.

The third wedding is that of Carrie and Hamish at a Scottish castle. Charles is a little bit depressed because Carrie is marrying Hamish. In the wedding, Gareth instructs his friends to met someone who really loves. Tom, Fiona's brother, tries to meet a right woman but he fail. Scarlett meet a tall, attractive American. As Charles watches Carrie and Hamish dance as husband and wife, he tells his feelings about Carrie to Fiona and then she tells him that she love him. Charles is surprised, but he doesn't have the same feelings. At the wedding, Gareth, the gay and Charles' friend, dies suddenly of a heart attack. Then, Charles tells the notice to Matthew, Gareth's friend.

The funeral is Gareth's funeral. At the funeral, Matthew recites a very beautiful poem, commemorating his relationship with Gareth. After the funeral, Charles and Tom have a discussion about the relationships, Tom thinks that he doesn't want the real love, only a woman that love him. They speculate that perhaps Gareth and Matthew were the only real "married" couple in their group.

The fourth wedding is that of Charles, who has decided to marry Henrietta because he doesn't want to live alone. All the friends get up two hours before as a joke. Just before the ceremony, Carrie arrives and tells Charles that she and Hamish are no longer together. Charles doesn't know what to do. At the altar, when the priest asks if anyone knows a reason why the couple should not marry, Charles's deaf brother Daviduses sign language to say that Charles doesn't love Henrietta. Charles translate and he say "I do" and Henrietta punches Charles.

At the end, Carrie visits Charles. Charles doesn't want to get married at all, but he does want Carrie to be his partner. The couple say that they will never, ever, marry.

Charles: Is the main carachter. He fall in love with Carrie. He have many friends. He is very friendly and he also arrives late to the places. He lives with Scarlett in a flat.

Carrie: She is american. He sleep two nights with Charles, but she marries with Hamish. She is very pretty and very friendly. At the end, she stays and she has a son with Charles.

Tom: Tom is Charles' friend and Fiona's brother. He comes from a very rich family. He is a very good person and humble. he doesn't want a thunder and lightning marriage, he only want a beautiful girl that she loves him.

Gareth: Gareth is Charles' friend and Matthew's partner. He is gay. He is very extroverted and he is Scottish. He dies in Carries' wedding.

Matthew: Matthew is Charles' friend and Gareth's partner. He is gay. He doesn't talk much but, in Gareth's funeral, read a very beautiful poem.

Fiona: Fiona is Charles' friend and Tom's sister. He comes from a very rich family. He loves Charles and she says to him in Carries' wedding. She calls Henrietta" Duck face"

Scarlett: Scarlett is Charles' friend and his flatmate. She is very rare and extroverted. She meet an American guy.

David: David is Charles' brother. He is deaf. For his help, Charles refuses Henrietta and he goes with Carrie.

Role-play:

When Fiona meet Gerald

fiona: What do you do?

Gerald: I'm studing to be a priest

Fiona: Do you do weddings?

Gerald: Not yet - I will do later, of course. It'll make me very nervous, I can tell you!

Fiona: I hat's just like the first time one has sex, isn't it?

Gerald: Well, I suppose so.

Fiona: Not so much mess, I thought

He get so very nervous and embarrased and Fiona went out.

a diary entry

Alex stole a CD in a shop two days ago. Then the police interviewed him and he said he was with me. After that, the police also interviewed me and I didn't tell the truth. I lied because if I told the truth, my friend would have many problems

I think Alex was wrong and unfair saying that he was with me because he involved me in the problem. If I was him, I wouldn't do what he did. But the shop has a security video and it showed alex stealing the CD. Now I've problems with my parents and with the police.

I believe that this is not going to happen again because Alex is not going to do it never more and now, I'm not Alex's friend. If I am in a situation like that, I will tell the truth to the police because I don't want to get involved in problems

2nd term reflection

My personal reflection:

Well, I think that I have done so much work and I'm happy because I've done a very good portfolio with all the extra points and all the things. I think I'm good in grammar and I also have got much vocabulary. I think I have to improve my pronunciation in the spontaneous conversation. But my pronunciation has improved because I talk with Adam in english.
I also must improve in the oral presentation. I think I read too much and I get too nervous. In the next oral presentation, I'm going to try to improve not to get so nervous and I'm going to try to read less or nothing.

Introduction

Hello. I will talk about music. I want to explain you all differents types of music and know which are the types of music that do the people like. I don't want to talk about the history because the history is the past and I would talk about the present and the future. I will talk about the differents types like pop, rock, dance... And then I will give my personal opinion.

Pop

In this section I will talk about pop.

Pop is the most famous type of music because it likes to the majority of girls and some boys. The pop likes to the people because is rhythmic and it talk about feelings.

But here, the're are two types of pop:
- The spanish pop.
- The english pop.

The spanish pop the songs are in spanish. The typical groups are el canto del loco, la oreja de van gogh. The spanish pop is horrible.

The english pop the songs are in English. There are more groups and the rhythm is diferent and is better. The best pop singers are Rhianna, Leona Lewis and singers like that.

my personal opinion

My favourite type of music is the dance, is the best type of music for me because has got a very good rhythm and, like his name say, you can dance. But I also like the rock.
I think that the music hasn't got much future because all the songs are downloaded on the Internet. The singers or the groups will only do concerts and they won't released CDs.

Twilight

Twilight is a fantasy and romance story, available on books or in cinema, that tells the story of Isabella Swan, who falls in love with a vampire called Edward Cullen. then, Edward Cullen defend her from a vampire, but he can't defende it all the time.

There are another three books: new moon, eclipse and breaking down.

I haven't read it but my sister has do it and she says that is a very good book.

Empire State building Run-up

Every year in New York on th 3th or february, more than 200 people run up to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building, There are 1576 steps. In 2007, the winner did it in ten minutes and eight seconds. Unbelivable!

It has to be amazing to run this competition. You've to arrive exhausted.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

the curious case of Benjamin Button is a great film. Il talks about a boy who ages backwards. When he born, his father abandoned him in a house. The house is a asylum for old man. The nursemaid educate Benjamin like a son. There he met Daisy and he fells in love. He went for over the world in fishing ship and she started to dance and she went to New York. One day, Daisy broken up his leg and he finished with his dance career. Benjamin goes with her and they started his relationship. They have a daughter but then benjamin has to go because he was a child. Finally, he returned to the asylum.

I have already seen this film and I like it very much, but is a bit long.

Explaining a problem

I’ve had a problem recently. Two of my friends started to go out. The boy is in love but the girl flirts with another boy.
I’m worried because If I don’t do nothing, maybe one of my friends will be annoyed with me and I will don’t have the fault. I think the best idea is talking with my friend girl and he doesn’t flirt with nobody, but she would get angry because I can’t say what can do or can’t do. Another option can be to talk with the boy and say to finish the relationship but he would get annoyed because he will think that I like the girl.
Please, I’d really need some advice because if I don’t do something soon, I’ll probably have problems with my friend.

INTERNET AND BOOKS

Internet has completely changed the world in the last twenty years. Before internet was invented, Communicating with people who were far away took much time and you had to pay for listening to music. These days, communicating with people is much faster, and you can listen to songs for free.
Books, on the other hand, tell you better histories and it’s forever because you can delete an e-mail but you can’t delete a book. Internet, however, sometimes doesn’t work well.
All in all, I think that internet is better because if facilitates many things in your life, or in the work or when you want to listen to music

I am writing to enquire about lottery funds for a community project in our town.
Woolsthorpe is a small town in the north-west of England. Our town is very beautiful, there is a lake, is in the middle of a very big woods, but there isn't any things to have fun. For that reason, we would like to build a cinema here. With the cinema, we could have fun and it would be very important for Woolsthorpe's people.
I would be very happy if you could send me information about lottery grants. If you have any questions send me information about lottery grants. If you have any questions about our project, please contact me on this number, 639432109.

MY LIFE

I was born in Girona on 12th April of 1993. When I was young, we lived in a different house, but still we lived in Banyoles, exactly we lived next to the city council. We’ve moved since then, and I’ve been here in our new house since 1996.
I only remember one thing about the old house. I had a toy motorcycle and I played many hours whit it. I also remember when I started to play golf, it was four years ago in golf Girona. There I saw a boy, who is called Jordi Garcia Pinto, and now he’s one of the best players in Spain.
I’ve been at Casa Nostra School since I was four years old, but before that, I went to the Patufets for two years with Jordi Vilà and Maria Brunsó. I’ve changed a lot since then. When I was younger, my hair was blonder and I was absolutely different. When I finish secondary school, I’ll continue studying until the University. Before I died, I want to go to the Galapagos Island.

During his publicity tour, Billy repeatedly causes Joe grief by pulling stunts such as defacing a poster of rival musicians Blue with a speech bubble reading, "We've got little pricks." He also promises to perform his song naked on television should it hit the top spot, and he keeps his word -- albeit while wearing boots and holding a strategically placed guitar -- when it does. After briefly celebrating his victory at a party hosted by Sir Elton John , Billy unexpectedly arrives at Joe's flat and explains that Christmas is a time to be with the people you love, and that he had just realized that "the people I love... is you", despite simultaneously hitting Joe with insulting comments about his weight. He reminds Joe that "We have had a wonderful ride" touring around the world together over the years. And he suggests that the two celebrate Christmas by getting drunk and watching porn. Billy and Joe's story is the only one exploring platonic love, and the two characters are unrelated to any of the other characters in film, although a few of the other characters are shown watching Billy Mack on their TVs or listening to his song on the radio. At the end of the film, Billy Mack arrives at the airport terminal with a gorgeous six-foot blonde woman pushing his luggage cart. He refers to her as one of two (and possibly more) new girlfriends, indicating his career has taken a turn for the better. Joe is there to greet him and their friendly relationship remains solid.

Juliet, Peter and Mark

Juliet and Peter are wed in a lovely ceremony orchestrated and videotaped by Mark , Peter's best friend and best man. When the professional wedding video turns out to be dreadful, Juliet shows up at Mark's door in hopes of getting a copy of his footage, despite the fact that he has always been cold and unfriendly to her. The video turns out to consist entirely of close-ups of her, and she realizes that he secretly has had feelings for her. Mortified, Mark explains that his coldness to her is "a self-preservation Christmas Eve, Mark shows up at Juliet and Peter's door posing as a carol singer with a portable CD player, and uses a series of cardboard signs to silently tell her that "at Christmas you tell the truth," and, "without hope or agenda... to me, you are perfect". As he leaves, Juliet runs after him and kisses him, before returning to Peter. Mark tells himself, "Enough, enough now," perhaps acknowledging that it's time to move on with his life. All three appear at the airport in the closing scenes to greet Jamie and Aurélia, showing that the friendship between Peter and Mark has not been affected by the latter's feelings for Juliet. thing" and excuses himself. Jamie and Aurélia

Writer Jamie first appears preparing to attend Juliet and Peter's wedding. His girlfriend misses the ceremony allegedly due to illness, but when Jamie unexpectedly returns home before the reception, he discovers her engaging in sexual relations with his brother. Heartbroken, Jamie retires to the solitude of his French cottage to immerse himself in his writing. Here he meets Portuguese housekeeper Aurélia, who speaks only her native tongue. Despite the language barrier they manage to communicate with each other, with subtitles indicating they are at times in agreement with each other, and sometimes of opposite minds. Jamie returns to London, where he takes a course in Portuguese. On Christmas Eve, he decides to ditch celebrations with his family to fly to Marseille. In the crowded Portuguese restaurant where Aurelia works her second job as a waitress, he proposes to her in his mangled Portuguese, and she accepts using her recently learned English. The film ends with Jamie and Aurélia, now engaged. At the airport they are met by Peter, Juliet, and Mark. Aurelia jokes that if Jamie had told her his friends were so handsome, she might have chosen a different Englishman. Jamie then jokes that she doesn't speak English well and doesn't know what she's saying.

Harry, Karen and Mia

Harry is the managing director of a design agency. Mia, his new secretary, clearly has designs on him. His nascent mid-life crisis allows him tentatively to welcome her attention, and for Christmas he buys her an expensive necklace from jewellery salesman Rufus, who takes a very long time adding ever more elaborate wrapping while Harry becomes increasingly nervous with the fear of detection. Meanwhile, Harry's wife Karen is busy dealing with their children, Daisy and Bernard (William Wadham), who are appearing in the school Nativity; her brother David; and her friend Daniel, who has just lost his wife to cancer. Karen discovers the necklace in Harry's coat pocket and assumes it is a gift for her, only to be given the CDJoni Mitchell's Both sides now to "continue [Karen's] emotional education", as Harry puts it, instead. She immediately understands Harry is having an affair, and briefly breaks down alone in her bedroom before composing herself to attend the children's play with her husband. Following the play, Karen confronts Harry, who admits, "I am so in the wrong — a classic fool", to which Karen replies: "Yes, but you've also made a fool out of me — you've made the life I lead foolish too," before blinking back tears and enthusiastically congratulating their children. As for Mia, she is shown smiling while trying on the necklace. In the final airport scene, Harry returns home from a trip abroad, and Karen and his children are there to greet him. Harry is delighted to see his kids again; his exchange with Karen is more perfunctory, but suggests that, though the two are not on steady terms, they intend to give their marriage a chance.

David and Natalie

Karen's brother, the recently-elected British Prime minister David, is young, handsome, and single. Natalie is a new junior member of the household staff at 1o downing street and regularly serves his tea and biscuits. Something seems to click between them, but with the exception of some mild flirting, neither pursues the attraction. When the president of the United States pays a visit, his conservative attitude and flat refusal to relax any policies leave the British advisors stymied. It is only after David walks in to find the President attempting to seduce Natalie that he stands up for the UK at a nationally televised press conference, saying Britain is a great country for things like Harry Potter, the Beatles and David Beckham''s right foot ("David Beckham's left foot, come to that"), and embarrassing the President by saying that "a friend who bullies us is no longer a friend." Concerned that his affections for Natalie are affecting his political judgment, David asks for her to be "redistributed." Later, while looking through a sampling of Christmas cards, David comes across a card signed "I'm actually yours. With Love, Your Natalie." Encouraged by this he sets out to find her. After much doorbell ringing, including a ring at Mia's house, David eventually finds Natalie at her family's home. Hoping to have some time with Natalie, David offers to drive everyone to the local school for the play, the same one in which his niece and nephew are appearing (as he realizes only when his sister, Karen - still unsteady from her recent discovery of her husband's affair - spots him and thanks him for finally managing to come to a family function). The two watch the show from backstage, and their budding relationship is exposed to the audience when a curtain at the rear of the stage is raised during the big finale and David and Natalie are caught in a passionate kiss. Undeterred, they smile and wave. In the final airport scene, as David walks through the gate at the airport in the finale, Natalie - heedless of the surrounding paparazzi - runs straight through his entourage and leaps into his arms, planting a big kiss on him.

Daniel and Carol; Sam and Joanna

Daniel , Karen's friend, is introduced in the film during a funeral for his wife, Joanna. Her death, caused by an unspecified long-term illness, has left Daniel and his stepson Sam to fend for themselves. Daniel must deal with his sudden responsibility, as well as the perceived end of his love life. ("That was a done deal long ago", he says to Sam, "unless, of course,Claudia Schiffer calls, in which case I want you out of the house straight away, you wee motherless mongrel.") Sam, too, is especially forlorn about something, eventually revealing that he is in love with an American girl from his school, also named Joann, who he assumes does not know he exists. After seeing Billy Mack's new video in a store window, he comes up with a plan, based on the premise that "Girls love musicians. Even the really weird ones get girlfriends." With Daniel's encouragement, Sam teaches himself to play the drums, eventually acting as top for Joanna's performance of "All I want for crishtmas is you" at the city-wide school play. Unfortunately, Sam's drumming fails to secure Joanna's attention the way he had hoped. After the play, Daniel consoles Sam, who is also heartbroken over recent news of Joanna's return to the USA and convinces him to go catch Joanna at the airport.

While Sam dashes off to collect his things, Daniel bumps into another parent, Carol, and sparks immediately fly. Sam and Daniel leave to find Joanna before she and her family board their flight to America. Once Daniel and Sam arrive, the attendant refuses to let Sam through. However, while the attendant is distracted by another passenger, the jewelry clerk Rufus, Sam is able to sneak through and race past the security checkpoint. With the gate staff distracted by Billy Mack's promised naked performance on TV monitors, Sam is able to reach Joanna and confess his love to her just as she is about to board the plane. He is brought back to his stepfather by security guards, but Joanna runs back to Sam to give him a kiss on the cheek. In triumph he leaps into Daniel's arms. In the finale, Daniel and Sam have returned to the airport with Carol and her son as Sam awaits Joanna's return. When Joanna walks through the doors, Sam says, "Hello," restraining the impulse to embrace her. Daniel curses, "He should have kissed her..." but Carol soothes him, "No, that's cool."

Sarah and Karl

Sarah first appears at the wedding of Juliet and Peter, sitting next to her friend Jamie. We learn she works at Harry's graphic design company and has been in love for years with the creative director Karl a not-so-secret obsession recognized by Harry, who implores her to say something to him since it's Christmas and Karl is aware of her feelings anyway. Unfortunately for all concerned, Sarah has an institutionalized and mentally ill brother who calls her mobile phone incessantly. Sarah feels responsible for her brother and constantly puts her life on hold to support him. Sarah's chance at making love with Karl, following her company's Christmas party (hosted at an art gallery run by Mark), is abandoned when her brother again calls her at the most inopportune time. Karl suggests that she not answer (asking, "Will it make him better?"), but she does so anyway, effectively ending their relationship. On Christmas Eve, she wishes Karl "Merry Christmas" as he leaves the office, and it is clear he wants to say something to her, but he departs and she breaks down in tears before picking up her phone to ring her brother. She is seen spending Christmas in her brother's institution, wrapping a scarf around him. They are the only couple not seen at the end of the movie at the airport.

Colin, Tony and the Wisconsin girls

After several blunders attempting to woo various English women, including Mia and the caterer at Juliet and Peter's wedding, Colin Frissell informs his friend Tony he plans to go to America and find love there because, in his estimation, the U.S. is filled to the brim with gorgeous women who will fall head over heels for him because of his "cute British accent". ("Stateside, I'm Prince William... without the weird family".) The first place he goes after landing in Milwakee ( winskonsin) is an average American bar where he meets three stunningly attractive women who, after falling for his Basildon accent, invite him to stay at their home, specifically in their bed, with them and their housemate Harriet ("the sexy one"). They warn him that, because they are poor, they can't even afford pajamas, so everyone will be naked. In the finale, a much cooler and more suave Colin returns to England with Harriet, the fourth Wisconsin girl, for himself, and her sister Carla who came on the flight to meet Tony. At the airport, Carla embraces and kisses a startled Tony and tells him that "I heard that you were gorgeous".

John and Judy

In a story that was excised completely censored from the version of the DVD release of the film, John and Judy , who up to this point were unknown to each other, work as stand-ins for the sex scenes in a movie. Colin's friend Tony is part of the film crew, and gives them directions as to the activities they should simulate so that lighting checks and such can be completed before the actors are called to the set. Despite their blatantly sexual actions, and frequent nudity, they are very naturally comfortable with each other, discussing politics, traffic, and previous jobs as if they'd known one another for years. John even tells Judy that "it is nice to have someone I can just chat with." The two carefully and cautiously pursue a relationship, and see the play at the local school together with John's brother. In the finale at the airport, Tony, while waiting for Colin, runs into John and Judy, about to depart on a trip together. Judy happily displays an engagement ring on her finger.

3 DIALOGUE

Daniel: So what's the problem, Sammy? Is it just Mum or is it something else? Maybe... school - are you being bullied? Or is it something worse? Can you give me any clues at all?
Sam: You really want to know?
Daniel: I really want to know.
Sam: Even though you won't be able to do anything to help?
Daniel: Even if that's the case, yeah.
Sam: OK. The truth is actually... I'm in love.
Daniel: Sorry?
Sam: I know I should be thinking about Mum all the time, and I am. But the truth is I'm in love and I was before she died, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Daniel: Aren't you a bit young to be in love?
Sam: No.
Daniel: Oh, OK, right. Well, I'm a little relieved.
Sam: Why?
Daniel: Well, you know - I thought it might be something worse.
Sam: Worse than the total agony of being in love?
Daniel: Oh. No, you're right. Yeah, total agony.
